Description

This rich chocolate cake is perfect for chocolate lovers, made with dark chocolate and cocoa powder for an intense chocolate flavor.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Melt dark chocolate and butter together in a medium bowl using microwave intervals until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk sugar into the melted chocolate mixture. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Sift cocoa powder into the batter along with vanilla extract and gently fold until combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until set but slightly gooey in the center. Allow to cool before slicing.
