Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and optional nutmeg.
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately over hot pasta or protein.
