Deliciously soft and spiced eggnog cookies perfect for the holiday season.

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup eggnog
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tablespoons eggnog
- Spoonful of ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and eggnog, and mix until smooth and combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls and place them 2 inches apart on the sheet.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
- Cool cookies completely on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with eggnog until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over the cooled cookies and sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Let glaze set before serving or storing.

- These cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
