Description

This delicious cherry chocolate cake combines rich cocoa flavors with fresh cherries for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, beat melted butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Stir in sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  6. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
