This Honey Garlic Chicken is a deliciously sweet and savory dish that’s easy to make!

- 2 lbs chicken breast or thighs, diced
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup cooked rice (brown, white, or quinoa)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions, sliced (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Broccoli florets or other veggies (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine diced chicken, soy sauce, minced garlic, and optional brown sugar. Toss and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the honey, rice vinegar, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Set aside.
- In the same pan, pour in the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Return chicken to the pan, toss to coat in the sauce, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve the chicken over rice with your choice of veggies. Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add more garlic or a touch of ginger to the marinade.
- This dish pairs well with steamed broccoli or snap peas.
