Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Taco Salad featuring seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables, and crunchy Doritos.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 3/4 cup Catalina or French dressing
- 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and a splash of water to the beef. Simmer for a few minutes until the seasoning is well absorbed.
- While the beef simmers, chop the lettuce, halve the tomatoes, and slice the green onions. Drain and slice the olives.
- In a large bowl, layer the lettuce, taco-seasoned beef, tomatoes, black beans, cheddar cheese, black olives, and green onions.
- Drizzle the Catalina dressing over the top.
- Just before serving, crush the Doritos and add them to the salad. Toss everything together gently.
- Serve with sour cream on top, if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey instead of beef.
- Customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients such as avocado or jalapeños.
- This salad is best served immediately to keep the Doritos crunchy.
