Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Taco Salad featuring seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables, and crunchy Doritos.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 3/4 cup Catalina or French dressing
  • 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water to the beef. Simmer for a few minutes until the seasoning is well absorbed.
  3. While the beef simmers, chop the lettuce, halve the tomatoes, and slice the green onions. Drain and slice the olives.
  4. In a large bowl, layer the lettuce, taco-seasoned beef, tomatoes, black beans, cheddar cheese, black olives, and green onions.
  5. Drizzle the Catalina dressing over the top.
  6. Just before serving, crush the Doritos and add them to the salad. Toss everything together gently.
  7. Serve with sour cream on top, if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey instead of beef.
  • Customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients such as avocado or jalapeños.
  • This salad is best served immediately to keep the Doritos crunchy.
